we live in the country, and it takes a good half hour or more to reach a big city, but there is a Dollar General close by, and believe me it is a life saver, we can go there and get most of what we need in a hurry,,, thank you Dollar General....

I like shopping at norman park dollar general but i don't like the card scanner, because when you're in one transaction it shuts down then you have to start all over again then when you're getting ready to sign your name then blue lines come up and you can't see the signature line.

I like to trade at the dollar general store because it is close by, cheap and convenient. Also very clean store. When people come in with children they are not allowed to run through out the store as in other stores. I do appreciate that.

The Dollar General in Mt. Orab, OH. could be a great place to shop if they could get enough employees to work when they need them there. I hate waiting in line there. When there is 1 employee and 12 customers in line someone is going to be upset. In the summer I have to go to another store and spend more because they have no air conditioning. The employees and customers all sweat. I have almost past out in there from the heat. The few employees this store has are great, friendly and helpful. When I called the main office, I was told if it was too hot to shop there maybe I should stay home or send someone else. Now I don't shop there. I give alittle more but Family dollar is cool in the summer. Employees are not quite as friendly and helpful but my health is worth the longer driver and cooler store.

Living in a rural small town I was delighted to see a Dollar General open. Not only has it "encouraged" other small business to keep their prices in line, but also gives the "big" discounts a run for their money. Shopping Dollar General first has become a habit.
I do enjoy the Dollar General. But I dont understand why they give you a web site to do a survey about you service at the store but when you enter the web site you cant even find the survey to complete.So if it takes more steps then entering www.DollarGeneralSurvey.com they need to let you know where to go next to fill out the survey & it should take you to where you need to enter you 21 digit #.
The Dollar General can be a pleasant place to shop at times, but sometimes they need more staff to assist at the check out lines.
Shopping at the Dollar General Store can be pleasant at times. I go there to get all my seasonings to cook our meals with. But I just hate when there's a line full of customer's and only one check out lane open. It's very irritating when there's more than one employee available. What happened to good Customer Service?

For the most part, I like Dollar General's items. Their mountain scented, fabric softner is just like Downey & I feel it's a great buy for a low price. However; their Ever Pet cat & dog food is of a lesser quality than before. My animals don't like this new brand. Not to mention the ingredients are of a lesser quality than before. I'm hoping Dollar General will go back to their original brand so that I can continue to purchase pet food from them.

I enjoy picking out greeting cards for various occasions. They are reasonably priced and attractive. I always check out the childrens books area where I find wonderful books for my grandchildren without spending a lot of money. One book I especially like is a bible for children. I live in Oskaloosa, IA and the store is very close to my bank and parking is not a problem. :)
Hi...I agree with all of the comments listed here. I am happy that our Dollar Gerneral store has reopened in Bridge City, TX after being flooded by hurricane IKE on Sept 13th 2008. Ninety percent of the homes have been destroyed but people here haven't given up & are reparing homes etc. & that includes our Dollar General store, many thanks to them. will continue to shop with them.

These Dollar general stores offer such a significant savings for everyone. At one time I went to the major grocery stores first but now I find it wise to go to Dollar General first.

I have a Family Dollar store and a Dollar General store both about a block from my house. Before the Dollar General moved in,I was at Family Dollar on a daily basis. Not no more. I go to the Dollar General store on Old US20 in Elkhart Indiana about 2 to 3 times a day. The people are very friendly, and helpful in every way!! I love this store! I find my self spending more than I have planned because the prices are so good! Welcome to the neighborhood!
I visited the newest Dollar General in my area this week. While the store itself is brand new and nicely arranged, the entrance to the store is not condusive to obtaining a shopping cart easily and the checkouts are a complete, poorly planned mess. While using one line at the "L" shaped checkout counter you will find it difficult to get out of the line after paying if there are more than two people in the other line to check out. Whoever engineered this one is most likely someone who has never shopped before.
